Our  purpose is to create scholars that exemplify the classical ideal – excellence in soul, mind, and body. With that firm purpose at the center of all that we do, CRLA Capistrano is a truly remarkable school.

Our academic program creates scholars with exceptional achievements. Our focus on excellence of character shapes the hearts and minds of our scholars to want to pursue goodness and virtue. With a curriculum, culture, and purpose built upon the classical liberal arts tradition, CRLA Capistrano’s adherence to timeless principles produces remarkable results.

Virtuous Education, Content-Rich Curriculum, and a Traditional Classroom Environment

Classical Education guides students to love that which is true, good, and beautiful. Historical facts are taught so that students come to a natural understanding of how morality has shaped the world from ancient history until now. Students are led and taught to see how people, decisions, and discoveries have created the world we live in today.

Teachers provide unbiased instruction without an agenda, and they guide students to consider what those facts mean, encouraging students to ask questions. It is that spark of curiosity and a desire to know WHY which begins to instill a love of learning for our students.

Critical thinking develops naturally, as students deeply consider what they’ve learned and try to make connections to their lives and what matters to them. They also practice critical thinking as they analyze subjects like math, Latin, and grammar. Classical education is very different from postmodern ideology, which supposes that individuals have the right to decide what is right or wrong, that there is no ultimate truth, and that everything is relative.

One of the main purposes of Classical Education is to inspire & cultivate virtue and wisdom in our students. As Classical Educators, we have a high view of humanity. Classical Education values the moral development of its students and seeks to inspire a love and appreciation for truth, beauty, and goodness. Children are intrinsically curious about human nature and the natural world, and a content-rich curriculum teaches facts about the world and people. Students reflect on and think critically about those facts.

Classical Education supports an emphasis on language, mathematics, the teacher as the central and main instructor, and an emphasis on promoting critical thinking by asking good questions. Our goal is not simply to teach students what to think, but HOW to think. We teach students to appreciate truth, beauty, and goodness because we believe that education is good for its own sake, not merely for vocational training.

What is Classical Education and how does it help your child excel both academically and personally?

Vision

California Republic Leadership Academy inspires and empowers the next generation of California’s leaders to excel academically, to be proud Americans, proud Californians, and to impact the world with excellence derived from an education like that which produced the inspired servant leaders who founded our great nation.

Mission

The Mission of the California Republic Leadership Academy is to develop the next generation of leaders in mind, character, and practice through a virtue-based education that leads a scholar to servant leadership through the pursuit of truth and the development of virtue and wisdom.

Leadership

Leadership

Servant Leadership Education trains thinkers, leaders, inventors, citizens, entrepreneurs, and statesmen “how to think”. Our scholars are prepared to motivate and inspire individuals, communities, and nations to a greater good, learning in an environment of freedom, wisdom, professionalism and rigor.

Scholarship

Wisdom

The wisdom of America’s founding was forged through the combination of classical study and the incredible entrepreneurial experience of immigrating to America. The principles those families learned and lived by are timeless, foundational and, unfortunately, missing in many of today’s schools.

Decorum

Liberty

John Adams declared that “children must be educated in the principles of freedom.” Understanding liberty and supporting principles and virtues prepare our scholars to be the next watchmen and standard bearers for freedom. We love liberty and are grateful for those who delivered it in our founding, and who protect it today.
